As a privately owned country pub and restaurant we offer a food and drink experience that sets us apart from the rest.
We are a traditional country pub and restaurant with a contemporary feel that produces delicious home cooked food for a discerning customer base who know they can trust us to provide a quality experience. This could mean a lunch with friends or office colleagues, Sunday lunch with the family, a cosy dinner for two or a celebration party. If you just want a good pint and read the newspaper, or use the free wi-fi that’s fine by us. We believe that everyone is entitled to a good meal regardless of their food preferences or intolerances, that’s why we have menus for coeliacs and vegans offering an inclusive dining experience for all.  Our bar is also dog friendly as long as your canine friends are kept on a leash and are well behaved.

Our customers recommend us to their friends knowing they can do so with confidence. We buy our meat from a local butcher who sources the majority of his meat from Staffordshire. We have great relationships with our suppliers who, like us, will go the extra mile to please.

Conveniently located for the National Memorial Arboretum, the Maize Maze, Uttoxeter Racecourse and Tutbury Castle we are open all day every day and serve food lunch time and evenings Monday to Thursday and all day Friday and Saturday. Sunday from 12p.m to 4p.m. This is the perfect stop for food and drink before or after your visit to any of these attractions.

Our commitment to excellence has won us seven awards for excellence in food, drink and customer service, with one judge writing that we are ‘a credit to the county’. Now in our 15th year we are still striving to be the best with our youngest chef winning 3rd place in Staffordshire Young Chef of Tomorrow in 2009  and now Best Young Chef  in the Eat Out Awards 2010- that’s why we say “there’s nowhere else quite like it!”
