Well known chefs Raymond Blanc and Shaun Hill have both been on panels of judges that have placed the Burnt Gate as a winner for food and drink excellence for the Heart of England. We have also won awards for Pub Restaurant of the Year in the Taste of Staffordshire competition.
Our commitment to excellence has won us seven awards with judges commenting that we are “a credit to the county”, “very well looked after from the moment we booked… warm welcome… staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable… good promotion of local food and drink and the enthusiasm of the staff made me feel that this establishment was a real pioneer of promoting local produce and turning it into quality appetizing food.” Our youngest Chef, Zara, came third in Staffordshire Young Chef of Tomorrow 2009 and more recently Best Young Chef for Burton and South Derbyshire.
Our front of house staff won Best Customer Service Award for the Burton Eat Out Awards 2010 and our Bar Supervisor, Lois, was a Highly Commended finalist for the Burton Business Awards 2010.
