Gluten Free Dining at The Burnt Gate
We closely scrutinise every ingredient we use to check that it is gluten free before allowing it to be used in our gluten free menus. We are very serious about ensuring the customer can feel confident in our food offerings.
What do we do to cater for Coeliacs?
- Every menu we have has a GF equivalent – this is to ensure the customer is sure of exactly what they can have on the menu.
- We buy in special gluten free bread that we serve with the starters.
- The ice creams suitable for coeliacs are only featured on the gluten free dessert menu.
- Gluten free desserts are made with gluten free flour/rice flour/ground almonds depending on the dish.
- We only keep gluten free soy sauce in the kitchen (which we make ourselves).
- We only keep gluten free baking powder in the kitchen.
- Chips are fried in a specific fryer to prevent cross contamination. This is how we can guarantee our chips are gluten free.
- We have a gluten free chopping board in the kitchen which is only used when gluten free items are being prepared.
- Kitchen staff are trained to be vigilant with GF meals.
